Born and raised on the North side of Milwaukee, WI on Hampton Ave., MC/Poet Don Jay Live (formerly “EliVate”; govt.: Donavan Jackson) made his first appearance as a recording artist in 2014 with the release of his 20 track Mixtape via entitled “Something I Wrote Last Night" or "SIWLN” On the mix-tape you can hear the heavy influences of Common and Talib Kweli, two of Don Jay Live’s favorite lyricists. 
 Don Jay Live later released a single entitled “Wrong House Party” which featured vocals from

vocalist @LiannaDunae. In 2015 after competing in the Legacy Conference “Rap Showcase” in Chicago, IL (founded by Brian Dye;, Don Jay Live performed and released his next single “Comfortable” ft. Milwaukee artist @TaeSpears. Comfortable is currently on’s Soundcloud with more than 18K streams. Since Don Jay Live has continued to build his artist repertoire with singles “One Time” and his latest release, “cut. corners.” 
 The Hip-Hop MC's 'Something II Consider' - EP, released in 2018, is a play off of his first mix-tape title: 'Something I Wrote Last Night' or 'S.I.W.L.N'. At the end of 2019, Don Jay Live released three singles: Hell X High Water, Jelly & Blxck Butterfly. He began the year 2020 with the 'Smidgen' - EP that included those singles and a few new sounds. Don Jay Live recently parted ways from his Record Label “Rooted Society, LLC.” and looks to expand his artistry as an independent. Stay peeled for what’s next #LiveOnes.
