The influence of the German electronic pioneers can still be heard in Groovy Loff’s music, blended with the attitude of Peaches and the raunch of Bootsy Collins. As the name of her debut EP ‘Swipe Right’ suggests, Loff is also inspired by millenial dating culture.
“All of the tracks on the EP are based on short stories I wrote about guys,” she says. “I like writing surrealistic, romantic ones but the truth sounds more sarcastic and fun when we put these words together with a melody.”
She worked on the EP with Brazilian producer Guto Guerra, recording at his studio in Rio de Janeiro. “He’s a musical genius!” she says. “He has believed in me as an artist since the beginning.”
With ‘Swipe Right’ now streaming and Groovy Loff gaining passionate fans all over the world, there are plans for many more magical moments to come.
