I then self-released my independent album, Adolessence. Written, produced and performed by myself, the 11 track LP explores topics like conformity, envy and ambition. All of the songs were selected by BBC Radio for airplay. Thankfully, I received further coverage from both sides of the Atlantic after being named one of the best new artists by BBC Introducing.
I was selected into M.A.S. Record’s emerging artist talent development programme and brought into YCUK, a creative collective harbouring some of the best up & coming talent in film, music & design.
In February 2020, I released a single called Any Given Sunday. With support from BBC Introducing, We Plug Good Music and 70 other platforms, the track gained buzz organically.
I have just released U ME WE. In the past I’ve shied away from writing directly about my life -- I was a little uncomfortable with exposing myself. With U ME WE, things are different: this is my story, from growing up in Chennai to making my way to London, I've written about my past and more importantly how it affects what I am setting out to do.
If I’m going to introduce myself through song, this is how I want to do it.
