For Eric Carlson, music and travel go hand in hand. As we encounter and absorb new landscapes, music is there to help us find meaning in these different places, to aid us in translating a strange environment into a part of our story.
On his new album, The Moving On, Eric embarked on a four-month roadtrip through the American West and down the Pacific Coast, recording in parks, on beaches, and in the houses of friends and strangers. Along the way he found that music was his only true home, the one thing that kept him grounded among the innumerable forests and mountains in a wilderness that seems to stretch on forever. Listen to the songs to get a taste of passing through, to feel what it's like to daily accept the moving, changing nature of our world.
