Mosquito Fleet has come a great distance since its beginnings a decade ago in small-town Indiana where Josh Carroll, Alex Mrakovich, Phil Rode, and Joel Yoshonis first met and produced the full-length album All Those Who Wander Are Not Lost ('10) and EP Swings & Cloves ('11). Their new, wholly collaborative project has emerged from the four cities—Dallas, Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles—where they now reside.
Life has changed for the members of Mosquito Fleet; then again, so has the world they inhabit. What has stayed constant is their itching need to ask the hard questions, find firm footing in a crooked world, and invite others along on the journey. Mosquito Fleet has expanded their concerns to include the political and systemic without leaving behind the deeply spiritual insight that captivated their early audience. Not only looking out there for answers, the proverbial finger is turned back on themselves, as they scrutinize their own struggle within and against injustice. Though already mature in their sound and convictions, one gets the sense that this is only the beginning for Mosquito Fleet. ~Lauren D. Sawyer
