After the making of an obscure EP created on a whim in Iceland alongside Alex Somers (Sigur Rós, Jónsi), Tom Gallo signed with Malibu-based Record Collection (John Frusciante, Fiona Apple, Blake Mills) and a publishing deal with Warp.
Next, Gallo recorded his debut full length album; alone at home, with an old nylon string guitar and a cheap microphone. Created for himself with no intentions to release, these raw recordings drew attention from Moses Sumney, Tony Berg, Justin Meldal-Johnson, and KCRW’s Chris Douridas - who separately encouraged Gallo to release the record as his debut full length album. Produced, recorded and performed entirely alone, Gallo handed the mixing duties over to multi-Grammy winner Tchad Blake, who’s catalog ranges from Paul McCartney, Tom Waits and Peter Gabriel to U2, The Black Keys, and RZA. Released in the Spring of 2018, “Tell Me the Ghost” was featured on Billboard Magazine and NPR’s “All Songs Considered” while receiving regular radio play from Los Angeles to Tokyo.
