The Red Rum Orchestra started as a lo-fi folk quartet around Comic writer/songwriter/journalist Peter Moerenhout.
After self-releasing an EP the band mutated into a five headed dark folk monster thanks to the electric guitars of Dieter Claus. They were signed with Interexterne, a label from the south of France.
This collaboration resulted in 2 EP’s, some tours in France, with show from Paris to Marseille and support gigs for Hugh Coltman, Bjorn Berge and Taraf de Haïdouks.
Flash forward to 2016: full album ‘Wilt’ with producer Frederik Segers (Stadt, Marvelas Something, PJDS, Sioen, Roland...) abandons the lo-fi folk sound of the first EP’s for an adult own sound with psychedelic depths.
The new direction continues with the current line-up and the current material: an eclectic mix of bona fide pop, dark wave sound and ethereal psychedelics, with lyrics that put you on the wrong track. Or maybe sometimes just the right one.
Peter Moerenhout: lead vocals/guitar
Dieter Claus: guitar/vocals
Sam Van Ingelgem: bass/vocals
Thomas Steurbaut: drums
Tomash Noël: keys
