Elocine is a one-man band that began in 1995 as nothing but a way to kill time during the insipid days of high school.
Sole member, Nelson Ciron, was also the drummer for the South Jersey/Philly-area indie rock band, Apple of Discord, from 1995 to 2003. After moving to southeastern Virginia in late 2003, Ciron decided to focus more of his creative energy on Elocine.
Elocine's songs are crafted out of life experiences, and are sonically rooted in musical influences like My Bloody Valentine , The Jesus and Mary Chain, and The Smashing Pumpkins. But the full catalog of songs doesn't necessarily fit into a single genre of music, ranging in sound from pure rock to electro-pop.
To date, Elocine has released three full length albums: "This New Ocean" (2008), "The Way Things Are" (2009), and "Love Will Be Defeated" (2015). Five EP's have also been released: "Experimenting With Mercury" (2004), "A Blinding Sunrise" (2009), "Tonight" (2013), "The Unloved Ones" (2013), and the most recent offering, "Hope Has an Enemy" (2017). Elocine was an original and long-time part of the Azteca Records lineup of artists, but Ciron decided to start self-recording and releasing albums from his home studio and continues to do so.<br>
