Icelandic bass-baritone Andri Björn Róbertsson is much in demand on both the concert platform and the operatic stage. October 2021 sees the launch of his much anticipated debut album on the Fuga Libera label featuring songs by Icelandic composer Árni Thorsteinson and Schumann Lieder. Andri has sung in opera all over Europe at the ROH Covent Garden, ENO, Zürich Opera, Lyon Opera, Hamburg State Opera, the Dutch National Opera, the Bolshoi Theatre, Opera North and the Icelandic Opera, in roles such as Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro, Angelotti in Tosca, Superintendant Budd in Albert Herring, Theseus in A Midsummer Night's Dream and Sprecher in Die Zauberflöte. Andri also sang the roles of Witness 3 & Madman in the World Premiere of Sir George Benjamin's opera Lessons in Love and Violence. Andri is a sought-after oratorio singer and recitalist, having performed in Bach's Cantatas, Passions and B-minor Mass, Handel's Messiah and Saul, Haydn's Harmoniemesse and The Creation, Mozart's Requiem and Coronation Mass and Messa di Gloria by Puccini, and given recitals in places such as the Oxford Lieder Festival, Wigmore Hall, Festival d'Aix en Provence and L'Opéra de Lille.
