Tanya Ransom pens songs that are emotionally revealing in a style that expresses both strength and fragility. Whether it be performing in trio style or a one woman show yielding a guitar, ukulele and percussion, she’ll draw in her audience with a warm embracing delivery, depth and a touch of melancholy and captivate them with her presence.
Residing in the remote North-West hasn’t deterred Ransom from seeking a successful music career, supporting artists Kate Miller-Heidke, Boy & Bear, John Butler, Missy Higgins and Tim Rogers to name a few. As well as performances at Nannup Music Festival, Blues at Bridgetown, North West Festival, Fairbridge Festival and WAMFest, from playing intimate House Concerts to performing in front of thousands, she is no stranger to the stage.
Nominated for WAM Regional Act of the year and WAM Song of The Year, Tanya Ransom has produced two full length albums working alongside fellow West Australian musician and sound engineer Dave Mann (We Two Thieves, Dave Mann Collective) and award winning sound engineer James Newhouse of Real2Reel (The Waifs, Ash Grunwald).
Recently awarded the 2020 Inaugural Festival Directors Award at Nannup Music Festival, there is no sign of slowing down for Ransom. Currently working toward her forthcoming EP set for release in 2021, the first single ‘Armour’ receiving spins on Double J, Triple J and community radio across the country. Soon to follow is her latest single ‘Cyclone’ officially out from 6th November.
