Originally forming in 2016, Edit the Empire has spent the past few years busying themselves by performing regularly within Melbourne’s thriving music scene.
Along with an appreciation for crafted, hook-laden choruses, most of the band’s sound revolves around a wall of over-driven guitars that are interspersed with sparse, stripped back moments, providing a bed for Patrick Clark’s questing lyrics that explore aspects of modern life.
Edit the Empire recorded their first self-titled EP in 2017 at Salt Studios and showcased the material at a range of venues, further developing themselves into a tight live unit.
The group emerged in 2019 with a completely new set of songs and embarked on a string of recording sessions, working with Andrew ‘Idge’ Hehir at Sound Park Studios and A Man Called Son singer Simon Pearlman.
Edit the Empire have now released their new single entitled, ‘Ray of Light’, which was mixed and mastered by Aaron Dobos at Sing Sing Recording Studios.
