"Sudden Lights" first success was winning competiton "Pirmā plate". After that followed singles "Tik savādi" and "Priekšpilsētas valsis", which got a video and a place in radio rotation in 2016.
In 2017 the band released two more singles and performed in festival "Labadaba". At the end of the year they released their debut album "Priekšpilsētas", which was nominated for the Annual Latvian record prize "Zelta mikrofons" in category "Best debute".
In January 2018 "Sudden Lights" participated in show "Supernova" with their song "Just Fine" and got into finals and came second, competing for a chance to represent Latvia in Eurovision song contest.
This summer the band joined “BrainStorm” on their tour around Latvia as the supporting act in all five concerts in the biggest cities in the country. “Sudden Lights” also attended a few festivals, for example, “Summer Sound” and “Bauska TASTE”. Apart from touring and playing other concerts, the band spent some time in the studio and released a new single “Negribu piezemēties”, which is produced by Latvian musician Jānis Aišpurs.
