About four or five was the average amount of takes needed to record a clean verse. A small bedroom in a big house full of disturbances caused loud voices and chatter to be a usual background track noise.
True Moody started taking his music serious at the age of 18 living with his parents and 4 siblings in a house hold that most people would call “broken” or “chaotic”. With headphones in his ears he would walk straight off the school bus passed the arguments and drug deals and lock himself in his room with his computer and recording equipment he bought off of craigslist.
His first song got the attention of people in his city due to the aggression in his delivery and the detail in his lyrics. With the encouragement from family and friends he decided to drop all other plans and go full speed at making it in the music industry.
At 20, he dropped his first project called The Prelude and started performing at open mic in cities around his hometown (Vineland NJ). Shortly after he followed up with New Religion which got him enough attention to headline at Voltage Lounge in Philadelphia and get 70+ people out to his first official show. Since then he has been dropping small EP’s and singles and putting together performances in and around his city.
True Moody describes himself as "the kid no one would think is a rapper”. - see more on IG @heytruemoody
