In Aisle Eight is an experimental rock band hailing from Silver Firs, Washington that brings forward elements of rap, alternative rock, blues, and indie, occasionally dipping their toes into synth-heavy psych/funk.
Originally formed by childhood friends Evan George (drums/production), Jason Abbott (guitar/production), and Tristen Stone (vocals/guitar) to perform a Rage Against The Machine mash-up cover at their high school's Battle of the Bands, the musicians frequently collaborated with one another for nearly three years before they officially joined forces under the name In Aisle Eight. On April 12th, 2017, the 3-piece released their genre-bending self-titled debut, In Aisle Eight.
Shortly after the album's release, Hayden Lilak (bass) and Ariel de Anda (guitar/vocals) were recruited to the band; with two new creative minds in the project, the group hit the ground running and spent the next several months writing and recording countless compositions in their DIY studio space in Everett, WA. The first song to surface from this bunch is the single Retroville, released on October 6th, 2017 -- this track marked the band's first release as a 5-piece project.
In early 2018, the band released their No Good EP which features bluesy rap-rock tunes (No Good), near-psychedelic instrumentals at times (501), a chilled out R&B track (After Hours), and even a slightly country-tinged song that feels like summer nostalgia (Sun and the Birds).
