Canadian songwriter Madeline Tasquin weaves nimbly from jazz-folk ballad to baroque pop anthem to delicate waltz, tying it all together with a powerful voice imbued with a fragile honesty.
With influences ranging from her opera singer mother and goldminer-storyteller father, to Animal Collective and Mr.Bungle to Chopin and Billie Holliday, her songs takes harmonic and rhythmic twists and turns while holding melody and groove at the fore.
Beginning as the front-woman of progressive rock band Antioquia (2006-2010), Madeline co-wrote, recorded & toured multiple albums with that group before she began writing and performing as “Mana Maddy” in 2010, releasing her 1st EP Another Trip Around the Sun independently in 2012. Since then, Tasquin has spent a large part of her waking hours on stage rather than in the studio. In 2017, Tasquin recorded & released her 2nd EP Future Telephone in Montreal with producer Félix Petit.
