London post-punkers Desperate Journalist first appeared in early 2013, playing a local Grunge night in Finsbury Park.
Jo Bevan (vocals), Rob Hardy (guitar), Simon Drowner (bass) and Caz Helbert (drums) self-released the 'Cristina' EP and were quickly signed by Fierce Panda records, who released the 'Organ' and 'Happening' singles, followed by the Desperate Journalist LP at the end of 2014. Two further albums - 2017's 'Grow Up', and 2019's 'In Search Of The Miraculous' - were released to critical acclaim and saw the band tour across the UK and Europe. Singles including 'Hollow', 'Resolution' and 'Cedars' received regular radio play from the likes of KEXP, 6music, XFM and Radio 1.
On October 2nd 2020 the band released a cover of 'The Fear' by Pulp, recorded during lockdown from separate houses. The band are currently working on material for their 4th album.
