Jack Rua is a pop artist hailing from Dublin, Ireland.
Stitched together from elements of glam; dance; folk and theatre, Jack has developed a brand of music that can dance across the entire pop spectrum, at once both emotionally confessional as well as aloof and enigmatic. Heavily influenced by David Bowie, Lady Gaga and Prince, Jack is carving a space for himself in the music industry, one where authenticity and depth can go hand in hand with artificiality and excess.
Jack has so far released two singles. Scarlet A was released in March 2019. The Michael Heffernan and Tenderhook. produced track is a "glittery, foot-stomping disco sex bomb", which lyrically delves into the nature of human attraction and monogamy. Scarlet A reached the top 20 of the Irish iTunes pop chart, and has so far amassed over 11,000 plays on Spotify and airplay on RTE 2FM and Spin 1038.
Jack's second single, Ego, arrived in July 2019 after premiering on Tara Stewart's 2FM show. It is a collaboration with Dublin producer LOGUOS and showcases a different side to Jack. Where Scarlet A delved into deeper, darker territory, Ego celebrates self-love and confidence in oneself over a house inspired pop bop. Ego has so far been played on RTE 2FM, Today FM, Spin 1038, BBC Ulster and KCLR, and was also added to Spotify’s editorial playlist “Out Now”.
