Multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, vocalist and producer Aaron Davis is chiefly known as co-founder of alt-folk/country-blues band Screen Door Porch, for his eclectic solo shows and ramblings with quartet Aaron Davis & the Mystery Machine, and as studio engineer-session player at his own Three Hearted Recording in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. National Endowment for the Arts recognized his 10-album body of work with a merit-based Fellowship. Davis works the lesser-worn corners of the American musical fabric through an unconventional lens. From "searing slide guitar" (Country Weekly) to a patchwork of story folk, unorthodox fingerstyle roots, pensive alt-country, gritty Southern blues, and 70s-influenced rock, Aaron has been described as a “truly phenomenal songwriter” (Americana UK) with “the lyrical prowess of Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy” (Buckrail) and “a combination that goes down like top-shelf bourbon” (Austin Chronicle). Among Davis' ten records are three solo releases and four albums of “grooving electrified porch music” with Screen Door Porch, a nationally touring band that announced a hiatus in 2017. According to Vanguard Records executive and critic Bill Bentley, “Screen Door Porch transformed roots music into something much larger—a down home goodtime vibe.” Aaron has shared bills with Wilco, Willie Nelson, Jason Isbell, Buddy Guy, Sam Bush, Brian Wilson, & James McMurtry with stages from SXSW to Treefort to Daytrotter. He's also co-founder of The WYOmericana Caravan Tour.
