The birth of the Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, in 2002, was propelled by artists and cultural drivers with the intent of shining light and bring value to the city square that bears the same name, in Rome.
Since 2002, over 100 musicians, from the farthest corners of the globe and with the most different musical backgrounds, have met and created art, through creative and professional projects, that were often also invested with their personal social redemption. The Orchestra promotes artistic research and the integration of different musical repertoires to give birth to a new "world sound," and can boast important productions like the Il Flauto Magico secondo l’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, produced by the Festival Les Nuits de Fourvière de Lyon, and by Romaeuropa Festival.
Or the Il Giro del Mondo in 80 minuti, an autobiographic performance and the first self-production by the Orchestra. 2015 marked the debut of two other original productions: Carmen secondo l’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, and Credo, an oratorio focused on the topic of intercultural and religious dialogue. Lastly, the Don Giovanni secondo l’Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio, a new operatic production, toured Europe between 2017 and 2019. To date, the Orchestra has released five records, and has held over 1500 concerts in cities throughout the world. The Orchestra di Piazza Vittorio was born within the Apollo 11 Association and was conceived and created by M.Tronco and A.Ferrente.
