Räjäyttäjät or “RÄJÄ" (if that’s too many umläuts for you) are Mikko Siltanen, Alex Reed, and Jukka Nousiainen.
In Finnish, the band’s name means ‘exploders’ or ‘demolition experts’, and they are a trio who understand that rock is the best art form because you can keep demolishing it to avoid becoming a prisoner of any one style. When they first started in 2011, they were punkish garage rock, by 2016 they were RÄJÄ ELEKTRIK, last year they were flossing to the Fall, and now they are something more... The video for the trio’s current adult-rock anthem ‘Samassa Veneessä’ (All in the Same Boat) was directed by Kalevi Suopursu with his trademark VHS-aesthetic, and it won him first prize in the Finnish music video awards. Perhaps watching irresistible men make great music might just make waiting for the Great Flood a little bit more bearable?
