Maslow's Basement is a musical project originally formed in Los Angeles California, now based in Kansas City.
Project music is most often lyrically inspired by several notions related to Abraham Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs - and describe the personal journeys and processes involved in escaping from the lower levels (homelessness, drug addiction, etc.) and climbing out of the basement.
Veterans and the tragically high rate of suicide among them is also a very near and dear problem we wish to shed light on, as are the many PTSD and other traumas that Veterans face when returning from combat.
Fronted by a formerly homeless veteran, Dustin Decker, and frequently joined by friends to accompany and fill out a back line, we consider every opportunity to perform, a chance to further highlight that "hope" is still very much alive, and help is here if you want it.
