The next year the group was nominated to the Latin Grammy Awards for “Best Instrumental Album”, alongside Chick Corea and Al Di Meola.
After 16 years of hard work the project “Piazzolla Plays Piazzolla” won 3 awards at Premios Gardel (Argentina’s most important music awards), for “Best Jazz Album”, “Best Album of the year” and the acclaimed “Golden Gardel”.
In July 2014 ESCALANDRUM was given the recognition as Argentina’s Public Feature, and its founder Daniel Piazzolla received the title of Renowned Personality in National Culture from the municipality of Buenos Aires. At the end of the year, their album “Vertigo” won the Gardel Award for “Best Jazz Album”. Released that same year, the album is distinct for featuring original songs without giving away jazz influences.
Closing a year fulfilled by world tours, in October 2017 they have recorded their 10th album at the renowned ABBEY ROAD studios in London. Featuring guest performances by Brazilian artists, it will be released in 2018, in time for the band’s 20th anniversary.
