From the start, the band was determined to compose a collection of songs that were meant for the stage. The outcome was The Erly’s debut record SHADOWS. Combining elements of indie-rock and folk, SHADOWS contains 11 songs written by Mattiford, McDonald, and Gleason. SHADOWS was produced by Nashville drummer/producer Trey Grey and keyboard wizard Neil Carmichael. Recorded at Andy Peck’s Dirty White Couch studio in Niles, Mi, the album was recorded in a total of 4 days and released on November 9th of 2018 at Vegetable Buddies in South Bend. Since then, The Erly has been gigging extensively in Michigan, Indiana, and the Chicago area and is planning to expand their outreach. As of May 2019, The Erly is writing new material for a second album.
