German schlager duo Fantasy consists of Freddy März and Martin Marcell, who met in the late '90s when they were starting out as solo musicians and shared the same management and producer.
After performing several encores together at shows where they both appeared as solo acts, they decided to form a group. They released their first single "Herz Gesucht" in 1998, followed by singles such as "Olé, Olá, Mallorca" (1999) and "Sag Ich Will" (2000), but it wasn't until 2005 that the duo released its first album, Mein Schönstes Geschenk -- led by the single "Geh mit Ihm," which was the first song written by the duo. A second album, Alle Wissen Es Schon, followed in 2006. They were invited by schlager singer Andrea Berg to tour with her, which boosted Fantasy's popularity, and their 2009 album, Land in Sicht, featured their first charting single, "Halleluja." In 2010, the group released its fourth album, König in der Nacht, followed in 2012 by the compilation Best Of: 10 Jahre Fantasy. Their fifth studio album Endstation Sehnsucht was released in 2013 and rose to number three on the German charts. 2014's Eine Nacht im Paradies went gold, hitting #1 in both Germany and Austria, and 2016's Freudensprünge, which saw the band working with legendary producer Dieter Bohlen, quickly raced to the top of the charts as well. ~ Christian Genzel, Rovi
