Sunshine, the lake, a bonfire, BBQ and good friends is all they need to be happy. But their lives are about to get a lot less chill, as they sign their first record deal and are set to play music festivals this summer while they work on completing their debut album with producer Dave “Dwave” Thomson, slated for a fall release.
Best friends for the last 10 years, Matt says, “As soon as we’re done with work and normal life stuff, music is what we love to do.” Echoes Brian: “It’s something we love. We didn’t do it to try to get signed. It just makes us happy.”
Kansas Stone was warmly welcomed in the country music community. They opened for such Canadian country stars as Dallas Smith, Aaron Pritchett, and Brett Kissel who were ready with advice and encouraging words. “Coming from a rock background,” says Matt, “the country scene is so much more welcoming and more like a family. We got sucked in. We could hang out with these people all the time.”
