Currently rooted in Nashville, TN, MELD's sound can be described as "UniverSOUL." An eclectic soulful experience, people have likened her to a modern Janis Joplin meets Hiatus Kaiyote.
Her sound has developed over time from a classic soul/R&B approach - to her current sound, which fuses together jam, soul, jazz, and theatrical concepts. Her debut EP "H.U.R.T." was released in January 2017, and was produced by Matt Harris of Livetronica band, Zoogma. MELD’s debut single "Easy On The Game," received mentions in Nylon Magazine, BTRToday, and No Country For New Nashville (ultimately landing her a spot on Hype Machine.) A firm believer in the art of cross-collaboration and genre-fusion, MELD felt called to work with electronic DJ’s from varying styles for a remix album. “H.U.R.T. - The Remixes” was released on April 20th, 2018, including remixes by Felice, Smurphio of Afrobeta, YDiz of Telekinetic Walrus, SAER, Spaceship Earth, Waterchild, Artist X (Formerly Daniel Simmons,) and Batavia. The albums first single “Leaving You Out (Felice Remix)” was premiered on renowned EDM blog, Dancing Astronaut, and the full album was featured on We Rave You on release day. MELD recently opened for The Main Squeeze in her hometown of Nashville, TN as a kick off to her summer western four corners tour, in which she played her first major music festival, Music On The Mothership. In previous projects Melanie Dewey of MELD has shared stages with Zoogma, Brothers Past, Teddy Geiger, & Maggie Rose.
