Matt Burke is a central Florida-based singer/songwriter whose soulful mix of rock, folk, country and Americana have drawn comparisons to Jason Isbell, Stephen Kellogg and Ryan Adams.
Burke initially honed his skills playing coffee shops, bars, and clubs in central Florida before moving to Chicago in 2008 to pursue a career in music. While actively involved in the Chicago music scene, Burke developed as a singer, songwriter and performer, playing many well-known music venues including the the Hard Rock Chicago, Navy Pier, and the Foundation Room at the House of Blues.
The Matt Burke Band (MBB) was established in 2010 with the release of Pretty Close to Very Good - Burke's debut album. In 2014, Burke moved from Chicago back to Florida to focus on further developing a growing Florida fanbase. Early in 2018, Burke released the sophomore MBB album - The MBB - EP - which pulls heavily from the Blues influences Burke was exposed to while living in Chicago.
Burke is currently writing material for his debut solo album – an album that makes a stylistic departure for him. While the Matt Burke Band’s music is funky and fun, Burke’s solo material is a more mature, roots-oriented, alt-country leaning Americana.
