Mixing punk energy with earworm-pop melody, Ugly Sweaters is the most fun band in Los Angeles. Songwriter Mandla Daley grew up in rural Zimbabwe, taught himself to play guitar, and when he moved to Los Angeles for school, he decided to start a band.
After a number of lineup changes Daley met Alex Pfender (yOya), the two hit it off and decided to collaborate on some songs which were released as Ugly Sweaters first record, the LALA EP. After singing backing vocals on that initial release, singer/keyboardist Claire Daley joined the band as a permanent member and featured heavily on their sophomore EP, Dancing Shoes EP. Ian Meltzer joined the band in 2016 and the quartet released the Sisters EP, a blaring 5 song record that clocks in at just under 15 minutes.
