36? makes pop-punk-neo-jazz-fusion soul music from heaven and hell. 36? makes ballroom dancing music for the disco.
36? makes stupid idiotic music for dogs and fish. 36? makes music that makes you cry and then stabs you in the back. 36? makes music that gives you the finger after buying you ice cream. 36? makes music that comes from the heart even when the heart feels nothing. 36? makes whatever feels right at the time.
36? is an award-winning internationally touring art-rock band originally out of Calgary, AB. Their latest record Milk Mountain (released by Vancouver record label, File Under: Music) is a whimsically cacophonous exploration through existential madness and social dread. Pulling from songwriter Taylor Cochrane’s struggles with mental health, social anxiety and coming to terms with polyamory, the record is a raw and unapologetic vignette of a human being coming in to their own in these uncertain times. 36? now lives in a van on the road, spotted somewhere along the west coast/mid west of North America, continuing to explore, grow, dread and be whimsical wherever they end up.
What started from psychotic episodes from a bad combo of ADD medication in a bedroom in Calgary, Alberta Canada is now a roaming adventure in a van across Western North America hunkered down in a recording studio/multimedia creative bunker trying to figure out how to be a band in the roaring 20s version 2.0. We’re glad to have found you!
