As he powered it on, he heard the Moog make a sound he would later recall as "a time-traveling space jet taking off from Earth." Over the years, he sat in with bluegrass bands, Middle Eastern music ensembles, and soulful hip-hop collectives all over USA and Canada, and all the while, late at night, he’d take out the Moog and write some funk jams for his ears only. Soon the Moog synthesizer begat more synthesizers, which begat wood-paneled drum machines, which begat hardware delays and reverbs, until one fact became abundantly clear: The old him was gone. WHITE RASPBERRY had arrived.
WHITE RASPBERRY is releasing his first EP this year, a collection of songs that will transport the listener back to the time of red leather jackets and chrome everything, while simultaneously soundtracking your night drive through city lights. This classically-trained multi-instrumentalist played every note on this debut — four jams that run the gamut from electro-funk to power pop to R&B balladry, for your discerning pleasure.
