Freya Ward is a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter from Devon. She works with Producer Matthew Lowe from Keston Cobblers Club and Stables.
BBC Introducing say 'absolutely beautiful'. Fresh on the Net say 'Freya’s rich tone and exceptional vocal control has me hooked'. She's been described as 'one to watch', 'authentic work of truth and beauty' (Americana UK) and 'an emotionally evocative rising singer-songwriter' (Fatea Magazine.) Indie Band Guru say 'Ward's sound is too refined to be this new'.
Freya's music is becoming known for its captivating lyrical storytelling and her crystal-clear authentic vocals; she has drawn comparisons to Laura Marling, Jade Bird, Ben Howard, The Staves, and The Tallest Man On Earth. She's a rising folk artist at the very start of an exciting musical journey.
Freya overcame her performance stage fright, after working with the legendary London Contemporary Voices, and singing backing vocals for Imogen Heap, Sam Smith, The Staves, Nitin Sawhney, Orlando Weeks, Manu Delago and many more.
Originally a pianist, she first began releasing instrumental piano under Freya Lily - drawing comparisons to Philip Glass and more, and gaining BBC Radio 6 airplay.
