Russell established himself as a solo artist after moving to Berlin and has since toured extensively throughout Europe, playing over 300 shows in seven countries in his first year, with festivals in London, Germany, Switzerland and France. He‘s been support for Kimberly Anne, Leddra Chapman and Kal Lavelle and performed at venues such as Kantine am Berghain (Berlin), Green Note & Union Chapel (London).
Inspired by the likes of Ry-X, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead and Jon Martyn, Russell taught himself to write songs by blending his passion for poetry and short stories with his love of indie-driven sounds, whilst growing up in Suffolk.
New EP ‘Body Like Braille’ arrives this year. Recorded with producer Rhiannon Mair (Palm Bay Music) and mixed by Bruno Ellingham (Massive Attack, Spiritualized) the record captures Russell’s haunting vocals, shimmering electric guitar and lush electronics.
