Ansley “Jukeboxx” Joye (formerly Ansley Jones) is a full-time multidisciplinary artist, dance scholar, official U.S.
Cultural Ambassador, hip hop feminist & women’s rights activist born & raised in Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A. Joye pursued a BFA in Visual & Performing Arts at Savannah State University in 2004.
and an MA of American Dance Studies from Florida State University in 2008. In 2016 Joye was awarded a creative performing arts fellowship from The American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS) for her 2017 project, “The Survivor’s Keeper Program – From Surviving to Thriving.” To learn more and/or donate visit
Joye performs and lectures on American dance history, Hip Hop culture and community sustainability through cultural arts. She has a special interest on women’s rights issues and gender-based violence with a specific focus on human trafficking. Jones, a human trafficking survivor was invited to deliver the keynote speech for the “Environmental Violence” panel for the SGA’s Black History Month Celebration “Black Joy.”
Joye is currently working on her 5th album to be released this year. As of February 15th, 2018 she is a published author in the dance anthology “Dancing Perspectives: The New Millennium.” Her article is entitled “ Bgirls As Drag Kings.”
