Born in Spain to Nigerian parents, Sully’s musical education was a wide-range one. He studied classical music in the conservatoire while gaining deeper knowledge in gospel and performance every Saturday in church. He grew up listening to everything from classic soul (@RayCharles @Aretha Franklin & @Donny Hathaway) to Nigerian Pop/Afrobeat (@Fela, @King Sunny Ade & Lágbájá) through RnB/Gospel artists such as @Whitney Houston, @Kirk Franklin and @Emeli Sandé.
He recently released his debut single Lessons, defined by Jiji M Ugboma as "a song that takes you back to a place of conscious listening and awakens a deep appreciation of the art of music. It has an effortless but intentional rhythm with lyrics that reflect the deep authenticity and passion of Sully” achieving a considerable amount of media coverage from radios and blogs.
Having played at several venues all over London (Hard Rock Café, Birthdays and Under the Bridge), he’s currently working on his debut EP, epokhe, to be released 2019’s fall.
