Emric John-Sawyer, stage name Re Teu, is a multi-instrumentalist that grew up and lives in London.
He says ‘music for me began when I started playing drums in year 9..."
Dean Jackson from BBC Radio Nottingham invited Re Teu to discuss his music on air and this was the first surge for Re Teu, gaining plenty of interest.
Shortly after he hosting a stripped headline show at Rescue Rooms and then going on to perform at that year’s Splendour Festival in Nottingham.
Leading into 2019, Re Teu began to further develop his music style. With musical releases such as “Isle Of Dogs” which is a clear token to the soundscape that is Re Teu. Within this year, he was also asked to perform for a second time at Nottingham’s biggest music event Splendour Festival, this time accompanied by a full band. In this year he also was able to play venues such as the esteemed Rock City.
Following a sold out London show, Re Teu now looks to create an EP honing specifically into his post-rock elements and creating fierce songs that have both moments of pure weightlessness as well as conflict and strife.
