Their self released debut EP Palpitations was pressed onto vinyl and received acclaim not just for it's beefy sound but it's aesthetic design qualities as it was an artistic collaboration with the critically acclaimed street artist Mr Skillmatik.
In 2020, the bands second EP, Culture Test was recorded by legendary sound engineer, Jon Burton (The Prodigy, Biffy Clyro, Richard Hawley, Bombay Bicycle Club, DJ Fresh, Pendulum and Booka Shade) and mastered by Martin Gregory Smith (Prince, Bombay Bicycle Club, William Orbit, Groove Armada, Richard Hawley, Jarvis Cocker, Gomez & UFO).
Their sound has been championed by many including blog writers, that public broadcasting company everyone has heard of and minor celebrities but there is no need to brag as the music speaks for itself. The one thing that is consistent about The Malthusian Trap is that where ever they go they turn heads and for the right reasons. Polished sound, loud but melodic and lyrical content to make you stop and think as much as making you want to dance.
