Philadelphia-born R&B vocalist Candice Anitra explored a burning interest in the performing arts when, in 2000, she moved to attend N.Y.U.’s Tisch School of the Arts.
In addition to training as an actor and singer, she performed in bands, wrote material for stage productions, and performed on-stage. Near the end of 2008, she released her first recording, Easier, an EP produced by the Force Theory crew. Bark Then Bite, produced by Easier engineer Joel Hamilton and featuring instrumentation from Dub Trio, arrived the following year. It showcased her simultaneously probing and magnetic vocal style, with her poetic lyrics backed by lively electronics-enhanced productions that pushed the boundaries of standard R&B. ~ Andy Kellman, Rovi
