Kevin Venom is a rapper born and raised in South Carolina, currently based in New York City. His style is defined by abstract imagery and dense rhyme schemes, and features strikingly personal lyrics about his life growing up as a child of Indian immigrants in the South, and later as an adult trying to make ends meet in New York City.
In 2016 he released his debut project I Eat Stars Now and Shit, a collaboration with a handful of producers and rappers from his inner circle. The album combines audio sampled from home videos of his childhood upbringing with musings about addiction, depression, and early adulthood to create a vivid portrait of his life and mental state. Later that same year, he released the La Malbaie EP with producer TUX, inspired by a month spent in rural Quebec. In the following years, he released several one-off singles with Lentra. Outside of rap, Kevin is a professional violinist with a bachelor's and master's degree in violin performance, and plans to begin his doctoral degree in the fall of 2020.
