The double bass player and composer Nicolás Ojeda was born in Córdoba in 1975. Since he was a child, he had contact with all kinds of artistic expressions.
He started studying electric bass in “La Colmena” in his hometown and with Pablo Frank in Buenos Aires. Then, he studied double bass in the EMPA and with Andrés Fuhr, electric bass guitar with Guillermo Vadalá and Carlos Madariaga
He works as a bassist in countless projects of different music styles such as rock, funk, electronic, experimental, fusion, jazz, and so on. He has also composed music for theater and other multimedia performances presented in Argentina and abroad (USA, Chile, Brazil, Africa, France).
In 2013 he released his first solo album, “Posibles días en sueños", with very good acceptance from the public and the press. Since then, “Nicolás Ojeda group” has regularly performed in the local jazz environment, and in 2014 he went on a tour around Rio Negro and Neuquén, sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of the Nation. His band has also been invited to the Jazz Festival in El Bolsón. In 2017 he was invited to the San Martín de los Andes Jazz Festival.
After 5 years of playing with his group and other projects he decided to record his newest LP “MAYO”, a darker and more eclectic album than the previous one. “MAYO” has been influenced by very different musical trends of folklore, electronic and experimental music, but always within jazz language.
