As their name suggests, Bleeding Knees Club's high-energy, mischievous garage punk is concerned with skateboarding, roughhousing, and indoor sports.
Formed in 2010 in the Gold Coast region of Queensland, Australia, the band is comprised of singer/drummer Alex Wall and guitarist Jordan Malane. The following summer, the duo played the stages of British music festivals the Great Escape and Liverpool Sound City; landed tours with The Vines, Wavves, and Lightspeed Champion; and recruited Matt Woods as full-time drummer. Their recorded debut, the Virginity EP, arrived that fall as the band earned a spot on spotify:search:label%3A%22NME%22 's 50 Best New Bands of 2011 list. Between their busy touring schedules, the Club traveled to New York to record a proper album with production help from Lightspeed Champion's Dev Hynes, and the final product, Nothing to Do, appeared in spring 2012. ~ Chrysta Cherrie, Rovi
