The addition of new member Joel Kelett (Guitar, Backing Vocals, Percussion) has facilitated a new sonic direction for the band. Combined with the classically influenced songwriting of frontman Stan Doyle, and rock-solid bassist James Peppercorn, the band has achieved a rich blend of sounds that few others in the Australian scene can match.
After an extensive break during the COVID 19 lockdown, the band returned to live performances with a sold-out headline gig at The Vanguard in Sydney. During the performance, several new songs were debuted, to rapturous reception.
During the lockdown, their single The Dark Side of Summer reached #10 in the Triple J Unearthed charts, and has accrued over 7000 streams on Spotify.
With influences including U2, Muse, The Killers and Radiohead, Array have all the qualities to explode in the coming years.
"We’ve been fans of Array for a while now. Since dropping their debut EP Save Face last year, the Sydney outfit have quickly carved out a unique pocket for themselves in the Australian indie-rock scene. Each single they’ve released since then has further established an undeniable talent for melody writing; each of their songs burst with huge choruses and dynamic, pulsating verses." - Happy Mag.
