Born into a musically inclined family, Hazlewood discovered his vocal talents as a little kid and began creating his own music at age 14. With songwriting becoming a much-needed emotional outlet after the death of his brother, Hazlewood soon started producing his own material as well. After appearing on the third season of New Zealand Idol (and finishing in fourth place), he took off for London and joined a three-piece rock band called The Scheme. Spending several years writing and gigging in the UK, he then moved to Australia, landed a spot on the inaugural season of The Voice, and emerged as a semi-finalist.
Hazlewood next kicked off his solo career, releasing his acclaimed EP Vanta in 2016 and Eos in 2017. Along with unveiling his newly stripped-down yet soulful sound on “Months & Miles,” he began channeling an outrageous showmanship into his live set, revealing a magnetic stage presence that makes his impassioned music all the more anthemic.
