Ming & Ping gained a following in the mid and late 2000s largely from the use of songs in sports films, television, and promotional spots from major companies like Bombardier Ski-Doo, Transworld Snowboarding, Oakley, Burton, among others. In 2009 they became one of the first musical acts to use mobile apps to market their music when they released Ming & Ping Pong, a smartphone version of the game Pong featuring their music and visual aesthetic.
Ming & Ping’s work with a small group of talented collaborators has played a vital role in matching the twins’ electrifying music with equally vivid photography and video, artwork, costumes, and luscious live performances. Their Cantonese Opera inspired stage show, known as "The Ming & Ping Dynasty," has performed with the likes of Major Lazer, She Wants Revenge, Freezepop, and The New Division. Interest in the group is aided by rumors that both twins are in fact the same performer. However, due to their rare public appearances, these rumors remain unconfirmed.
