The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect. It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious and political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences, understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity.
In early 2016 as news channels showcased relations of all kinds strained across the globe, South Bronx artist Clacc brought together four musicians from different walks of life and musical backgrounds to create Panda City. Proving once again that music builds bridges, this unit reflects a multi-racial-ethnic-musical blend that can’t be categorized in any one genre.
Panda City is: Clacc – vocals, Justin – Bass, Young E – Guitar, Mazz-1 – Drums. The name is meant to reflect the make-up of the players, a guy from the South Bronx, two schooled musicians and a NOLA punk drummer. It wasn't an intentional mix, but the foursome blend together effortlessly with each bringing something unique to the menu.
