Primarily known for his innovative approach to the acoustic guitar, Geordie first developed his unique style on the streets, and going on to refine it on stages around the world, before expanding his horizons, moving into sound design, composition, and a number of collaborative projects.
As a guitarist, Geordie combines percussive finger and lap style guitar to create something truly his own. Mixing percussion, chords, melodies, and harmonics simultaneously, and taking influence as much from the electronic and post-classical worlds as from his peers, he creates aurally and visually entrancing compositions, redefining the boundaries of what the guitar can be. As a composer and sound designer his approach can be seen as just as varied and innovative, combining his organic roots as an acoustic instrumentalist with the ambient aesthetic of the musical world surrounding him. His compositions reflect an overtly personal, introverted calmness within a cluttered and hurried world full of bright lights and noise. It is at the crossroads of serenity and mayhem, of organic textures and synthetic beats, of electronic thought process and natural instrumentation, that Geordie's music is most at home.
