Travelling to Australia, Sam studied the right hand techniques of flamenco guitar in with Nigel Jones and Damian Wright, before successfully auditioning for the Royal Northern College of Music. But Sam really found his voice whilst recovering over a two year period from the life- threatening illness that forced him to drop out of College.
During his long recovery he started uploading live clips & short films with his lo-fi bedroom demos behind them to Instagram. His blend of indie folk & alternative pop soon helped him gain support slots for artists such as Gabrielle Aplin & shows with Newton Faulkner.
Sam has since performed live for BBC Introducing & Sofar Sounds, sold out his first headline show, self promoted his own UK mini-tour, played venues including Notting Hill Arts Club, The Troubadour, Ronnie Scott’s, Camden Assembly & even the O2 arena amongst others.
Sam’s latest release ‘Clutter’ was written whilst on a hiking trip in Iceland, this reflective song is about not getting stuck in your own head.
