A multi-talented artist of Burundian descent, Aiza's status as Montreal's newest rising star is unsurprising: Over the past few years, she has collaborated with a number of local artists in a wide variety of musical genres, including Beat Market, Fabrikate, Paul Cargnello, and jazz soulstress Malika Tirolien.
A two-time winner at the Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs), Aiza is also the recipient of the 2017 Gloria Mitchell-Aleong Award. Following the success of her first single Criminal, which was released independently, she signed with Montreal-based label Kartel Muzik to deliver her first francophone EP "Adieu", a rich blend of R&B/Soul and Afro-pop vibes.
In just a few months, Aiza has taken her career to new heights and is making big splashes in the music industry. Some of those highlights include:
- She is the recipient of a scholarship from the Women's International Music Network (WiMN) to attend the prestigious Neverland Retreats in Costa Rica.
- She performed at the SOCAN Awards Gala in Montreal on October 2 at TOHU.
- She was chosen as the Future Star iHeartRadio this past August on Rouge FM stations across Quebec, during which her single L'Univers est à moi rose to 24th place in Quebec's Top 100 Francophone charts.
-She won the "Francophone Artist of the Year" award at the 2019 Dynastie Gala.
