A SoCal supergroup featuring neo-bluesman G. Love, surfer-turned-musician Donavon Frankenreiter, and scenester-turned-studio whiz Cisco Adler, Jamtown styled themselves as a "Netflix age Crosby, Stills & Nash." This means the trio, despite their funky name, specialize in good vibes, breezy harmonies, and strummed acoustic guitars, the very things that evoke a sunset on a beach.
Originally, the trio was going to be the duo of G. Love and Frankenreiter, but when Adler joined in on harmony, the three musicians realized they were a group. Adopting the name Jamtown, the group recorded an album, inviting a few friends -- including Citizen Cope and Duane Betts -- to play on the record. They cut the tracks in ten days and then released an eponymous five-song EP in the summer of 2017. ~ Stephen Thomas Erlewine, Rovi
