Spearheaded by producer, DJ, and musician Emch, founder of Dub Champions Festival. Core live squad includes Jamaican percussion legend & Black Ark studio veteran Larry McDonald on congas and Troy Shaka Simms of Brooklyn Gypsies on sax. Subatomic recently completed a North American tour with Lee "Scratch" Perry for the 45th anniversary of his Blackboard Jungle Dub album, performing the world’s first dub album live for the first time. This follows the success of their Super Ape Returns to Conquer album.
Separate from the updated roots dub sound with Scratch, Subatomic carved out a new sound combining dancehall with hip hop and electronic music. Check their 2009 NYC-2-Africa riddim riddim which has continued to be versioned by vocalists around the world over the last decade as well as receiving numerous remixes such as on the Dem Can't Stop We From Talk featuring dancehall legend Anthony B.
