The Swiss saxophone player and composer Rafael Baier graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied with George Garzone, Jerry Bergonzi, Bill Pierce and composition with Greg Hopkins and Ken Pullig. 
 The electro-jazz ensemble „Metamorphosis“ soon became the backbone of his artistic development after returning to Switzerland. The band successfully mixes electronics and jazz improvisation. The group‘s debut recording entitled „metamorphosis“ (not available on Spotify) was released on altrisuoni records in 2005. In 2009 the second production „Solitude-feat. Ingrid Lukas“ was released in the renowned German edition „Jazzthing next generation“. The band got exciting reviews form public and press for their appearances at festivals across Europe. The groups latest album „tales of homecoming and longing“ will be released on November 26th 2021 featuring an eclectic mixture of jazz, world music, classical and tasty electronics. 
 Rafael Baier produced and composed several crossover shows, multimedia spectacles and dance theaters. He’s co-leading the classical crossover group „Don & Giovannis“ and is featured on the recording „en route“ together with the harpist Eliane Koradi-Zweifel. www.rafaelbaier.ch
